Procedure: Cervical Spinal Fusion

What was your initial medical issue?

About two years ago I began having pain and numbness in my neck that radiated down to my shoulders and arms. At first I thought it was just stress-related, but later I found out that it was because of a pinched nerve in my spine.

What did these issues prevent you from doing?

Almost everything. Daily walks became almost impossible. Worst of all, I couldn’t lift my grand kids.

What made you decide to do something about your problem?

I tried all kinds of treatments before considering surgery – acupuncture, massage therapy, pain injections – nothing worked for very long. It got to the point where my doctor told me that it was only a matter of time before I would need surgery.

Why did you choose Dr. Sinicropi?

I was referred from my primary doctor. When I first met Dr. Sinicropi, I told him up front that I didn’t want to have surgery if I could avoid it. He never tried to talk me into anything I didn’t want to do.

What treatment/procedure did you have done?

Cervical fusion.

How did you feel after treatment?

I didn’t have any pain after my surgery. I only took about 3 of my prescribed pain pills after I got home. A week after the procedure I was able to travel to Florida with my family.

What advice would you give other patients in a similar situation to you?

I was terrified of surgery at first, but Dr. Sinicropi and his staff were so supportive and made me feel comfortable. Looking back I’m so glad I had the procedure done. Put your trust in Dr. Sinicropi – he is an expert!
